Crayons in the Laundry

Here's another one of those things you never expect before you have children...

With Joanna back in school full time, much of the housework has fallen into my not-so-capable hands. Take laundry for instance. I know the basics of separating colors, and using fabric softener and so forth. However, not just once, but TWICE in the last two months I've managed to miss a crayon in the laundry. Both times the little bugger made it into the dryer.

Heat + Crayon = No Fun for Dad!

The first time I spent well over an hour attacking the problem with Goo Gone and a roll of paper towels. Having depleted the bottle that had previously been slowly consumed over at least 5 years, Jo was kind enough to purchase Goo Gone Spray Gel for me this time.

Wow! What a difference! It took maybe 30 minutes and not even half a roll of paper towels. Granted, this was not exactly fun, but still an improvement.

So thumbs up to Goo Gone Spray Gel. However, as great a product as it is, I think I'm going to be a wee bit more careful checking those pockets from now on!
